I adore this plant. It is the best heat tolerant performer in my blazing and dry street beds.
I was first introduced to this one on horticulture classes. I brought home tiny babies that went crazy. It does not seem to be terribly invasive but certainly easy to remove should it happen up in a spot you didn't choose.
A bright true red that lasts without fading!

A superb bloomer for a hot color scheme, Gomphrena haageana 'Strawberry Fields' is a great choice for a hot color scheme. About 20" high, this steady blooming globe amaranth also makes a great cut flower for drying.
Soil should be of good quality and well-drained. Full sun is essential for good growth and best flowering. This annual blends well with most other flowering bedding plants and is a good filler for the border where spring perennials have faded. When sowing seeds, try to soak them in water for a few days before planting. This will aid in speedier germination
